Our Story
About Luchita's
In 1982, Luchita Galindo set out to follow her dream of opening her own business. After years of dedication and perseverance, she and her son, Jorge Galindo, opened the doors to a small Mexican restaurant on Cleveland's West Side — Luchita's Mexican Restaurant.
With a casual, diner-style atmosphere, Luchita and Jorge served authentic, fresh, flavorful Mexican cuisine to as many guests as their cozy space could hold. By the late 1980s, Luchita's had earned a strong reputation for its quality and hospitality. In the 1990s the Galindos expanded their vision into Luchita's Mexican Grill & Tequila Bar, introducing a broader menu of regional dishes — soups, salads, entrées and chef specials — to showcase the rich, festive flavors of one of the world's most exciting cuisines.
Though the family embraces modern techniques, its style remains hands-on and personal. Employees are treated like family, and they extend that same warmth to every guest. As the locations grew, many of Luchita's children worked alongside her — with Rey, the youngest, as the main chef. Rey and Momma Luchita traveled to Mexico four times a year, collecting techniques from local chefs to contemporize Luchita's award-winning cuisine.
With Rey at the helm, the Luchita's legacy lives on at Coyoacan Taqueria & Brew — committed to guest satisfaction, culinary deliciousness, food quality, service, presentation, and a fiesta atmosphere.
